What is Difference Between Pipe and Tube?
Pipe is measured in inside diameter (ID) whereas tube is measured in outside diameter (OD), wall thickness(WT). In the industry of Pipe and Tube, the term of Pipe and Tube will be further used . Pipe is identify by “Nominal Pipe Size” (NPS), with Wall Thickness is known as “Schedule Number” (SCH). And Tube is specify by its Outside Diameter(OD) and Wall Thickness(WT), defined by Brimingham Wire Gage(BWG).
What is Pipe Schedule?
Pipe is known to narrate the thickness of pipe and OD of pipe is the same to all schedule in a particular nominal pipe diameter standard pipe schedule as follow further: ANSI/ ASME/ B36.10 M AND API 5L.
