Description
Stainless Steel 446 Coils, UNS S44600, 1.4762 SS Coils, 446 Stainless Steel Coils Supplier in India
We Deliver The Highest Quality Stainless Steel UNS S44600, 1.4762 SS Coils! Asiamet is a full line distributor of stainless steel 446 coils. We can offer various value added services such as cut-to-length, polishing, bending, rolling, shearing, manual or automated punching & forming, and welding (MIG, TIG & spot welding).
Common widths of stainless steel coil is 1000mm, 1250mm and 1500mm. Stainless steel coils can be cut as per clients requirements into sheets. Asiamet carries a wide range of thickness 0.1mm is the thinnest gauge going up until 8.0 mm in stainless steel coils.
446 stainless steel is one of the most widely used and versatile type of steel. 446 stainless steel is often referred to as ‘corrosion-resistant steel’ – it does not stain, corrode or rust as easily as normal carbon steel. It is an austenitic stainless steel. It is less electrically and thermally conductive than carbon steel and is essentially non-magnetic. It has a higher corrosion resistance than regular steel and is widely used because of the ease in which it is formed into various shapes
Stainless steel 446 coil is used to manufacture products in a variety of industries where extreme conditions may exist such as marine, oil & gas, chemical processing, power generation, food processing, wastewater and other applications. Asiamet is a stockist, supplier and exporter of high quality stainless steel coils as per ASTM A240 in various sizes and grades such as 304/304L, 310/310S, 316/316L/316Ti, 321/321H, 347/347H & Duplex 2205.
Stainless steel 446 sheet is typically sold in the annealed condition and is available in 0.1mm to 8.0mm in cold rolled and hot rolled form. Our 446 stainless steel coils come in both 2B finish and various polished finishes such as 2D, BA, No.1, No.4, No.8, 8K, Mirror and Matte, with PVC Coating.
D
Due to its anti-corrosive properties, stainless steel sheets have become essential in the composition of parts for the medical, tooling, mechanical and food industries. Stainless steel sheets are widely used in various industries as mentioned in the below table.

PREN for various Grades of Stainless Steel Coils
What is PREN?
Pitting resistance equivalent numbers (PREN) are a theoretical way of comparing the pitting corrosion resistance of various types of stainless steels, based on their chemical compositions. In general, the higher PREN-value, the more resistant is the stainless steel to localized pitting corrosion by chloride. The elements which have a significant impact are chromium, molybdenum and nitrogen.
The formula used to calculate PREN is as below:
PREN = %Cr + 3.3(%Mo) + 16(%N)
PREN = 1 × %Cr + 3.3 (%Mo + 0.5 × %W) + 16 × %N

Alternative Grades to Stainless Steel 446 Grade
Features |
|
303 |
Stainless steel 303 grade can be used when higher machinability is needed, and lower corrosion resistance, formability and weldability are acceptable. |
316 |
Stainless steel 316 grade can be used when higher resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion is required, in chloride environments. |
321 |
Stainless steel 321 grade can be used when better resistance to temperatures of around 600-900°C is needed. 321 has higher hot strength. |
3CR12 |
Stainless steel 3CR12 can be used when lower cost is required, and the reduced corrosion resistance and resulting discoloration are acceptable. |
430 |
Stainless steel 430 grade is acceptable when a lower cost is required, and the reduced corrosion resistance and fabrication characteristic are acceptable. |
