Stainless steel strips have a wide range of microstructures which are controlled by composition and strips can be used for a wide range of applications from food industries, chemical industries to electrical industries and generator industries. Stainless steel strips can be offered on various parameters thereby ensuring the durability and finishing of the products for more finishes. Wide range of stainless steel strip in coils are available including Austenitic Stainless Steel 300 series, Ferritic 400 series. Common widths of stainless steel strip is 12mm to 800mm, in thickness range of 0.1mm to 6mm. We specialise in the supply of stainless steel strips customized as per clients requirements.
Common widths of stainless steel strip is 12mm to 800mm . Stainless steel strips can be cut as per clients requirements into strips. Asiamet carries a wide range of thickness 0.1mm is the thinnest gauge going up until 6.0 mm in stainless steel strips.
304L stainless steel is one of the most widely used and versatile type of steel. 304L stainless steel is often referred to as ‘corrosion-resistant steel’ – it does not stain, corrode or rust as easily as normal carbon steel. It is an austenitic stainless steel. It is less electrically and thermally conductive than carbon steel and is essentially non-magnetic. It has a higher corrosion resistance than regular steel and is widely used because of the ease in which it is formed into various shapes
Stainless steel 304L strip is used to manufacture products in a variety of industries such as food industries, chemical industries to electrical industries and generator industries. Stainless steel strips are also used in various architectural applications and sheet metal component manufacturing industry. Stainless steel strips can be easily formed into various shapes, and polished as per customer requirements, making it the most important raw material for sheet metal component industry. Stainless steel strips can be easily formed into various shapes, and polished as per customer requirements, making it the most important raw material for strip metal component industry. Asiamet is a stockist, supplier and exporter of high quality stainless steel strips as per ASTM A240 in various sizes and grades such as 304/304L, 316/316L, 321/321H, 347/347H & Duplex 2205.
Stainless steel 304L strip is typically sold in the annealed condition and is available in 0.1mm to 6.0mm in cold rolled and hot rolled form. Our 304L stainless steel strip come in both 2B finish and various polished finishes such as 2D, BA, No.1, No.4, No.8, 8K, Mirror and Matte, with PVC Coating.
Due to its anti-corrosive properties, stainless steel strips have become essential in the composition of parts for the medical, tooling, mechanical and food industries. Stainless steel strips are widely used in various industries as mentioned in the below table.

PREN for various Grades of Stainless Steel
What is PREN?
Pitting resistance equivalent numbers (PREN) are a theoretical way of comparing the pitting corrosion resistance of various types of stainless steels, based on their chemical compositions. In general, the higher PREN-value, the more resistant is the stainless steel to localized pitting corrosion by chloride. The elements which have a significant impact are chromium, molybdenum and nitrogen.
The formula used to calculate PREN is as below:
PREN = %Cr + 3.3(%Mo) + 16(%N)
PREN = 1 × %Cr + 3.3 (%Mo + 0.5 × %W) + 16 × %N

Alternative Grades to Stainless Steel 304L Grade
Features |
|
303 |
Stainless steel 303 grade can be used when higher machinability is needed, and lower corrosion resistance, formability and weldability are acceptable. |
316 |
Stainless steel 316 grade can be used when higher resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion is required, in chloride environments. |
321 |
Stainless steel 321 grade can be used when better resistance to temperatures of around 600-900°C is needed. 321 has higher hot strength. |
3CR12 |
Stainless steel 3CR12 can be used when lower cost is required, and the reduced corrosion resistance and resulting discoloration are acceptable. |
430 |
Stainless steel 430 grade is acceptable when a lower cost is required, and the reduced corrosion resistance and fabrication characteristic are acceptable. |
